Lol, I guess I figured I'd elaborate more on this "OC".

He's more er, developed, I guess. Has an absolutely foul temper all the time, never gets enough sleep or food, and likes to wear sunglasses - no, those aren't lame hipster glasses - to hide bags under his eyes.

NO you assholes, he is not a Gary Stu, he got a 9 on the litmus test (whadduuup!) lol. He isn't a sarcastic, rebellious, angsty teen. Actually he is, but to the level where everyone hates his guts because he's so fucking pessimistic that it's annoying. He basically hates his life and being an asshole is how he copes, or something.

I'm actually a bit tentative to put this on dA, mostly because it is really only a work in progress and it's a bit of a stupid idea that's seriously underdeveloped BUT developed enough to give me an idea of what I want. I dunno.

His name . . . fuck, his name. I really don't like it, but at the moment, it's Darren Hart. I favor the simple names, but I really don't like this combination at all. It just doesn't match him.

He's supposed to have dark hair (brown, I guess?) and like, hazel-colored eyes.

APPARENTLY - from what I got out of random sketches of him - he's got a square-ier jaw and should have a uh, stouter figure? but he's not really at the healthiest now so he's pretty scrawny.

In the world that he lives in (with only a few other characters which I've shaped a little) there is a "race" of people who have er, powers? I guess? I know it's a really overused idea, but everyone's gotta try it once, so what the hell.

So basically, everyone is really different. You can start out extremely proficient or pathetically not-proficient (no duh) at all. Some people get more experienced as time goes on, or if they use it more often, and sometimes for some people, they learn new aspects of it. So let's say for example you can read minds. You can get better at that, until you can hear everyone's minds in a radius of 100 yards or something. Or you could develop further and become able to control people's minds, or even further than that and start to be able to control things with your mind and move it around and shit. Of course, for that to happen, you'd have to be extremely lucky.

It's a really open-ended sort of world, and the problem that I'm having is that the majority of people aren't supposed to have powers.

And there's the really big catch, which is that people who DO have these powers are valued not because of the powers, but because of what you could do with their blood. I dunno what that is yet, though. So merh. But it WILL and SHOULD be something that can give "normal" people the upper hand against the speshiuls.

For Darren's case (god, I hate that name *shudder*) he's supposed to be able to heal, but only if he takes the injury from whoever he's healing.

As a kid, his dad is killed in front of him (of course, that was really Gary Stu of me) by this "neutralizer" which kills normal people. That's a crime, though, so what allows a lot of the speshiul people to get away safely is THAT law: soldiers'n stuff are reluctant to shoot at people because of the consequences that follow IF a normal person is shot, because they will die.
Anyways (it's a lot more complicated BUT), the people who shot his dad realise that Darren's the one who's got the powers, so they grab him, 'arrest' his preggo mom, 'cause she might have another speshiul baby, and take him off to someplace turrible.

Then he gets out YEARS later blahblahblah won't spoil the details for you with a group of buddies (I was sure to make sure this group was not only young people, because that's so cliche), and they escape to this lake where there is an abandoned cabin or two OR SOMETHING. This isn't really figured out yet.

They find weird shirts in one of the rooms, so he gets to have them. He also finds a pair of sunglasses which he falls in love with, and now uses all the time.

So he's really an asshole because of his power; he's always used for minor stuff or really inconvenient stuff like broken bones, and he's selfish because he doesn't want to take wounds that'll make him miserable. And everything makes him miserable.

He's a vulnerable character and if he has the chance (which he DOES get) he WILL opt out of using his powers, by using the neutralizer thingies. He rarely smiles because he always is pissed, but it's rumored that when he smiles, he actually looks very approachable. However, he is not really boyfriend material, sorry guise, lol. He's kinda a pissy little bitch, if you think about it.
